In this role, the Statistical Programmer will provide programming support to exploratory analyses and data presentations under the direct supervision of a clinical biostatistician in the CVMED (Cardiovascular, Metabolic, and Endocrine Disease) therapeutic area. The successful candidate must have a high level of demonstrated expertise in SAS and S-Plus/R programming in a clinical trials setting. Translation of written and verbal specifications into software analysis code. Application of good programming practices. Ensure proper execution of software code. Ensure accuracy of output resulting from the execution of the software code. Detailed documentation and organization of work product.
Requirements: Masters degree or equivalent in statistics/biostatistics. Demonstrated experience with clinical trials data. Demonstrated expertise in SAS programming: data manipulation (eg complex merging), macros and SQL; data presentation: TABULATE, REPORT, ODS, SAS GRAPH; S-Plus/R programming languages; Excel, PowerPoint, WORD; Demonstrated expertise with graphical presentation of data using SAS, Excel and S-Plus/R; Demonstrated experience and facility in a UNIX environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment supporting several clinical biostatisticians. Ability to work independently.
